Well, you can always listen to some new music while you wait for something of any substance to appear on this page.

If you build it, they will come.

Size DOES matter... but sometimes, smaller is better :)

Oh, also... once I organize all the pics, I'll be doing a page on what this turned into!! Stay tuned :)

Why is it that a ham sandwich... the same exact kind of ham sandwich I have every single day for lunch at work... tastes completely different when I eat one at home??  Hmmm...

Oh... and there's some new pics on the kitty page... go looky!

No school for me today!...

That's the scene out my front window at dawn this morning.  And that's not just snow... it's like... this freezing rain stuff that's collected on the ground to look like snow.  So yes, it's about 10x more hazardous out there than if it were snow :)  The freezing rain started coming down yesterday afternoon, and looks like it went all night.  I left work yesterday about 3PM when it was just starting to get bad.  What a drive home THAT was!  I wish I would have had the camera :)  Until it either warms up, or the sand trucks make their way down my street, I think I'll be spending a little time at home :)  Good thing I made a trip to the grocery store on Sunday... otherwise I would be in big trouble :)

The kids are growing up :)  Today was Belle's 1st birthday!

The left picture was taken today, her first birthday - the right picture was taken when I first got her :)  She's such a great kitty.  Still a big chicken... but such a sweetie nonetheless :)  Here's a few more pics I took today...

I actually have a ton of new pics for the Abyss page, but I haven't gotten them online yet... hopefully this week sometime.  I've been neglecting this web page quite a bit :)  However, I did update my "About Me" page today... so I'm working on it!

To fill everyone in on what's been up... I had the most wonderful Christmas and New Years!  Evelyn spent 2 1/2 weeks with me, and it was really great.  We stayed here in Texas... just the two of us, and the kitties :)  They had their own Christmas stockings and everything... complete with presents for each!  It was really fun.  New Years was spent, of all things, sick :)  Nice timing, huh?  Evelyn and I spent the last days of her in Texas with us both being sick :)  We made the best of it though, and actually had a really nice time snuggling up in front of the TV and taking care of each other :)  Though I think she did a better job taking care of me than I her :)

Not much has happened since then... been pretty mellow recently.  Evelyn has been super busy at work (she works for a tax service place, so you can imagine)... but she's hanging in there.  We're hoping she can get back to Texas for a long weekend towards the end of February.  And then of course... come May 1st, it's time for her to get here for good :)  I'm going to fly out to CA and drive here with her... so it should be a LOT of fun!  I'm starting to plan a cool route back... the best one so far involves Los Angeles, the Saguaro National Park, and a few ghost towns in New Mexico, to name a few stops.  Should be quite an adventure :)

In tune with that theme, I've decided that this year will involve a lot less time in the air, and a lot more time on the road.  Last year I did a lot of plane travel... well this year it's gonna be all about the road trip.  I started to make a list of potential cool road trips... divided up into "mega adventures" and "mini adventures"...

Mega adventures:

I think the most probable ones out of that bunch are the Grand Canyon and Carlsbad/Roswell... but we'll see.

Mini adventures:

That's all I have so far... and they're just ideas anyway.  I'll get some cool stuff figured out :)  Though the lists above could already fill the rest of the year with awesome adventures.  We'll see!  Once Evelyn gets here, and we recover from the epic trip to get her to Texas, then we'll start thinking about other trips :)  I also ordered a few books from Amazon.com... one about Texas weekend getaways for all seasons, one about great country drives, and one about off-the-beaten-path stuff in Texas... so I'm sure I'll get a bunch more ideas after looking through those!  Oh... and let's not forget... one other adventure that we might just be crazy enough to do... go on a Southwest U.S. Muffler Man quest!!! :)  Oh, and also, a drive over, and up, Route 666... since there's talk of them changing the name... so I may never get the chance again to get a picture taken next to the "666" sign :)

Ummm... oh... and I ordered one of these, exactly like that one... but I'll talk more about that in about a month :)
