I
don't know about the rest of you... or maybe it was just louder in
my car for some reason... but I really disliked the constant sound
of the SU fuel pump tapping away. It was really annoying to
me. I did like being able to hear the thing though, to know it
sounds like it's working correctly... but I wanted to just barely
hear it, so I wouldn't even notice it unless I specifically wanted
to.
So, all I did was I just took the fuel pump mounting bracket off,
enlarged the holes, and installed rubber grommets that I bought at
the local hardware store. And viola! Problem solved.
I could still hear the pump, but just barely. It's a much more
enjoyable ride now!
Oh, and since I wasn't tightening any of the bolts
metal-to-metal anymore, I used some low-strength Loctite on all the
bolts to keep them from working loose over time.

If anyone has any questions about any of this, feel free to send me an email!
