Evelyn and I
really enjoy photography... nature, scenic, people, whatever... and
have an equally strong love for art of all kinds. Below you will
find pictures from various adventures we've been on, as well as some
artwork that I've done...

I thought I would include some
abstract-ish art of mine for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure,
depending). In this day and age, it's hard to say that anything
is unique and different... but I think this stuff might just be.
Pro/Engineer 3D CAD software with a
little "creative tweaking", some Photoshop filter play, too
much coffee,
the strange voices in my head... mix it all in with a little lack of
sleep and a pinch of the mysteries of the cosmos, and you have
"Abstract Interpretations of the Human Mind"...
The above images were all created using
Pro/Engineer. I'm a design engineer (mechanical), so I use
this stuff every day for normal designing. One day, I started
to mess around with some of the settings to see what would happen.
Well... interesting things happened, to say the least :) I
really enjoy creating these things. They are so... abstract I
guess. And when I make them, I
don't have any idea what it's going to end up looking like... where
I'm going to end up. The image just develops as I go along.
This makes it extremely interesting to me, because I think I'm
tapping into a level of my subconscious or something... I move
something a certain way, it pleases my eye, and I continue in that
direction... or the opposite happens and I go in a different
direction. Looking at these, I think they actually represent a
reflection of my mood... or thoughts... or feelings... at the time
the image was created.
Man... I think about this stuff WAY too much
:)

The above pictures are some of the
amazing scenery that Evelyn and I got to see on our epic drive from
California to Texas... the drive that brought her here to Texas for
good... a drive I am quite happy I made :) I flew out to
California one-way on May 16th, and then drove back with her in her
car... just us, the little U-Haul trailer, and 1,500 miles of open
road. What a trip that was! We sure did have fun though :) |

These pictures were taken in Vallarta, Mexico
during Christmas/New Years 1999. The above row left three
pictures at a really cool restaurant called Chico's Paradise. The
other pic in the top row was taken while driving down the coast, and the
whole bottom row some epic sunsets taken at the beach.

From the left: The first pic was
taken on the drive between Daytona Beach and Tampa, FL. That's
Tampa off in the distance. Next pic is a nice one of the Chevelle I had
for the first year I lived in Texas. I sold it at the beginning of
2000, but it went to a good home. The next pic is a beautiful sky picture
taken at Black Point Wildlife Drive Near Orlando, FL. The last
three pictures were taken at the Fort Worth Nature Reserve. I'm
amazed the butterfly picture came out as good as it did... this camera
makes me look good :P The Spider picture was a surprise too, just
like the deer was mildly surprised at the human trying to take it's
picture :) |
